Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Pharmaceutical and Applied Science (JPAAS) considers plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate use of previously published material to be serious violations of academic and publication ethics.

All submitted manuscripts should be original and should appropriately acknowledge the ideas, words, data, and findings of other authors through proper citation and referencing.

Plagiarism Screening

Manuscripts may be checked for plagiarism or substantial similarity using appropriate plagiarism-detection tools during the editorial and review process.

The editorial team may evaluate the nature and extent of any similarity identified. A similarity percentage alone will not necessarily determine whether a manuscript contains plagiarism, as some legitimate similarities may occur because of technical terminology, references, standard methods, or commonly used expressions.

Forms of Plagiarism

JPAAS considers the following practices unacceptable:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, figures, or other material without appropriate attribution.

  • Presenting another person's work as one's own.

  • Submitting substantially similar content that has already been published elsewhere.

  • Reusing substantial portions of one's own previously published work without appropriate disclosure or citation.

  • Fabricating or manipulating sources or references.

Action on Plagiarism

If plagiarism or substantial inappropriate overlap is identified before publication, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification or revision, or it may be rejected depending on the seriousness of the issue.

If plagiarism is identified after publication, JPAAS may take appropriate corrective action, which may include publishing a correction, issuing an expression of concern, or retracting the article.

In serious cases, the journal may contact the authors' affiliated institution or other relevant organizations.

Authors' Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original and that all sources are properly acknowledged. Submission of a manuscript to JPAAS implies that the authors agree to comply with the journal's publication ethics requirements.

JPAAS reserves the right to investigate suspected plagiarism and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
